In reply to Dave.

Thanks Dave! If we read the very next verse after the one you quoted, we see: "Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his generation. Noah walked with God."

The reason why Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord is BECAUSE he walked with God, which can only be done when we love God. And we can only love God because he first loved us. So, in a sense, the causative source is always God. But it's plainly unbiblical to say that our feelings and decisions have no bearing on how God interacts with us. Otherwise, why does he grow angry with us when we are disobedient? He was clearly angry with the wickedness of the people, and plainly pleased with Noah's decision to walk with him, and Noah's attitude of love and reverence toward God.

Genesis 6: 8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord

It was not about Noah's righteousness, nor (sorry) Noah's love of God.

It was all about God and HIS grace and mercy and none of Noah's feelings, decisions or works, just like our own salvation.

I absolutely loved The Flood.... to use your imagination like that and the true Word of GOD was very enlightening. It has given me a better understanding of Noah. I asked myself if there could have been demons like you described and thought about David and Goliath. Goliath was a giant so what’s to say something like “the others” didn’t exist? If you have done nothing by this book, you have given me an interest to pick up and study more of Noah and I say “Thank you”

Hi Brennan, He Whose Name Absolutely Looks Like An Author's Name: This is a fabulous post, lots of meat, and your website is beautiful. Congratulations on the upcoming book; I just preordered. I too am fascinated with the Noah thing. Maybe we can Message or email sometime about a few other reasons some suggest for why God had everybody but eight people perish in the flood.
