Wow...thanks for sharing this tragedy to triumph story. These things are so hard to go through but the moment when you see God's love in and through the story it becomes so beautiful in spite of the sinfulness! Thanks for being open and vulnerable!

Thanks for this great devotion! If only the world would see this side of Christianity--mature understanding that God is not all sunshine & cuddles--but alas, that is asking a lot. What a touching & raw reminder that we live in a sinful, broken world riddled with hardship. Thanks for taking the time to show how God can shine through a very painful situation--Contrary to common belief, the presence of evil and pain does not negate God's existence nor His goodness! Because of this terribly mistaken, sanitized misconception that's out there, it's important for Christians to be real about our pain--so thank you! Being honest about the severity of our struggle while not forsaking our faith gives us an opportunity to give glory to God in the brokenness. In doing so, we demonstrate our assurance that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. I love how you brought up that maybe the pain we experience is needed discipline that we brought on ourselves, but other times it's allowed to spur much-needed growth in us or orchestrate events in such a way to later glorify Him. Thanks for reminding us that God has a purpose for our pain.

Bren, I read this devotional out loud with your Dad and though it surprised us that you wrote about that painful experience, you wrote so well about the different reasons why pain comes. We (your parents) rejoice every day over your brothers recovery and you were a tremendous help during that time. I’m thankful that you were able to use that experience to share about it with others and to help many who are suffering with pain. Our sons break down led to his breakthrough! Thank you Bren for another inspiring devotional! ❤️??

Terry, I'm so glad you found it helpful! It sure has been helpful to me in rough times. And revealing, because where I automatically go for comfort is a sign of what I hold closest to my heart!

I've always experienced pain in my life. In the past, I used to justify it by saying, "By feeling pain, it's the only way I know I am still alive." I had not thought about using the pain as a way to be closer to my Lord and God. Thank you for a new Christian perspective on utilizing my pain for the glory of God.

Thx Brennan for your devotion.....good insights, good reminders....rejoicing with you in the triumph of your story and in giving thanks (finding the good) in all things ! The lessons of life are precious and eye opening as we do sometimes “work out our salvation with fear and trembling”....it IS a “good fight” of faith we live in Him and we can be sure we WILL see that “all is (will be) well”.❤️
