What an encouraging devotional. I have often thought the same, that I should have been more spiritual prepared for a problem, then I was. Paul's metaphor of Christians running a race is apt. We need to be training in our "off-time", so we will be prepared when it's time for the big race. It is so easy to put off training, and think "eh, I'll do it tomorrow." Thank God that he stays with us through our poor training practices. But its still best if we can learn, and stay on track with our training.

The whole devotional is good. Definitely received in my spirit. But each time, there always seems to be one or two sentences that hits home a little deeper. This week, it's right here:

"When life is wonderful, it’s really easy to waste our free time on cheap entertainment rather than on growing closer to the God who crafted our hearts as vessels for his Holy Spirit. It’s funny that we think that will make us happy, because it doesn’t. The Holy Spirit is the source of all joy, so neglecting clinging to him will only result in less joy."

Yep!
